Lately...

We got to visit with Eric and Leslie Davis this week for a little bit. Hard to believe that between the Standridges, Davis, and us that we have 10 kids! We've all been friends for about 12-15 years, so seeing our families grow is a joy.
I love my mornings with this little one.
It's so special to have alone time with her when the bigger girls are at school.
The girls love Christy to bits.
 And Alex is alright :)
Poor guy- he took it from my girls!
Ok, let's settle down for bedtime.
We love going for walks in the back yard.
After 5 years of living here, it's still hard to believe this is home!

So in some ways this has been a hard week, but in the challenges I've seen God at work. We've had sickness, bronchitis, ear infection, infected tooth that had to get pulled, migraines, and the heat broke. God was good to let us see Him in those challenges. I was reminded that in Heaven there will be no pain; but we will see Him face to face and be able to worship Him with no sin entangling us. That's what we hope for! This earth doesn't promise us heath, comfort, and ease; but rather we should remember we live in a fallen and broken world because of our own sin.
We have a great home to look forward to.
The kids have had a blast camping out in the basement by the wood burning stove the last 4 nights. We should get our heat (and a whole lot more) replaced tomorrow.
And this morning we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow. I love how God can make us white as snow with His perfect forgiveness. Can you see the girls by the creek? This was BEFORE school.

Spirit Week!

This week was ICS Spirit Week! The girls had a blast dressing up each day.
Here's Savannah's adorable class on Super Hero Day.
Maddie was Black Widow. Like the web?
Special powers: web making and climbing walls.
Savannah was Rainbow Dash. Special powers: she's fast and can fly.
Love these two.
ICS Day- wear your blue and gold and cheer for the basketball game!
 Hat Day!
You know Geneva had to get in on all the fun!
 And Jersey Day.
Savannah is wearing her Daddy's soccer jersey from when he was five.

And Maddie is wearing her soccer jersey from this year's team. Maddie had a tooth pulled at the orthodontist yesterday and is such a brave girl! She's back at school today.
We love ICS!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

The girls were so happy to celebrate Daddy;s birthday!
They ran out to meet him in the snow as he came home from the men's meeting that morning.

We made Daddy a SWEET birthday card!
Here's our funny card.

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa Robert

We had lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa Robert!
One highlight was afternoon bowling.
We also visited the new REI in downtown DC- it's a pretty cool store.
Besides that, we went on a few walks, opened Christmas gifts, celebrated the New Year, went to church, and ate dinner at the Cheesecake Factory at Tysons. It was as great trip- thanks for coming!! We miss you and love you!

Happy Year Year!

Grandma and Grandpa Robert are here to ring in the New Year!
We played some games like Suspend.
We had some characters over on New Year's Eve...

I love that Porter has the Yoda mask on upside down :)
Dinner was yummy- appetizers, carnitas, chicken tortilla soup, salad, bread, and key lime pie.
Jesse set our clocks 3 hours ahead, so at 9pm we did the count down to the New Year.
Who wants all these kids to stay up until midnight?!

Didn't realize we were twins until I looked at this picture!
We were so glad Grandma and Grandpa Robert could come for a visit!
The girls love reading and visiting with them.
Happy New Year!

Last Post with Papa and Mimi

We enjoyed some exercise before ...
 Sugar Shack!
And we watched Star Wars, of course.
Papa took Maddie to the movie theatre while Mimi watched one of the older ones with the Littles.
Thanks Dad for helping Jesse with the yard! Fall is officially over now :)
Thanks for reading these great books to us Mimi. Gutsy Girls is a children's series featuring different Christian women in history. They were all "gutsy" in different ways.
They held every ones attention.
