Little Friends

Karis and Madison have endured several Costco trips together. They were particularly funny this day. Both of them decided for have a yelling contest inside the car. One of them would make a noise, then the other would copy it a bit louder, and so on...Sara and I couldn't believe how loud they got. Then they were pretty silly together in the shopping cart. Here are a few pictures of them making each other laugh.

Balboa Park in the Spring

For date night this week the Johnson's went to Balboa Park for a picnic. I made a delicious spinach pasta salad with chicken (thanks to Karen Harasick's recipe) for dinner, and then we went for a walk around the lake. We found that all the cherry blossom trees were in bloom- it was so beautiful! I had fun taking a few pictures :)

What a sweetheart.

Standing

In the last week Madison has started standing on her own. I find her pulling herself up everywhere. It's pretty cute. She's a very driven little 8 month old gal.

Playing Hard and Sleeping Hard

Now that Madison loves crawling around, she doesn't stay still for a moment! So, when she hits the crib, she seems to sleep in funny positions.
We had a picnic dinner at the park one night this week. We are loving that it is staying lighter later.

That's her look at Jesse because he's sticking his tongue out at her! She loves grabbing it.

Eight Months

Here she is...eight months and filling the basket! This girl loves to crawl everywhere and get into everything. She acts like a dog most of the time- chewing and licking most things. She still isn't into baby food, but likes eating off our plates! She sits up in her crib, and makes great effort to climb out of it too. Jesse and I have more and more fun with her every day. She is a joy!
Melissa Nesheim gave us these adorable shoes along with two other pairs! Now she's completely outfitted!
I love the quizzical look!

So Silly!

Madison loves taking whatever is on her feet off, and putting it in her mouth! It's a riot to watch her crawl with her shoes in her mouth- it's like she's playing fetch!
Another dog-like activity. Licking the trash can! Good thing I wash it often! I just don't understand. What a funny girl.

Mimi Time

I just love these pictures! Madison and Mimi are pretty cute together. We had another beautiful warm day. We sat out on the front lawn for a bit, then went for a walk, and the dad's joined us for dinner.

Madison the Monkey

Madison is now getting herself all over the house, AND into things! I left her for a moment in the living room to get something from my room, when I heard a loud banging noise coming from the kitchen. I came out to find her holding the entire refrigerator grid in her hands and biting it! Of course, I  had just given her a bath and cleaned the kitchen floor, but I did miss cleaning BEHIND the grid. So, there was a little dirty monkey on my kitchen floor.
Raise your hand if you're guilty! Well, this has become a "no touch"...
She is also pulling herself up onto things, one of them being her crib. She thinks it's very funny.
This is after I lowered the crib the night before. Of course she has decided to become a little monkey the week I've had all four wisdom teeth pulled! She keeps me moving! (There will be no pictures of my very swollen face for a while!)

Seminary Banquet

Last weekend Jesse and I had a fun evening together at the Seminary Banquet. We made it to the Reagan Library early enough to tour Air Force One (Jesse drove like mad to get there in time for that!) After a walk through, we had fun visiting with friends, like the Pidals (who took this picture- thanks!) We are so thankful for the many friendships we have here! I certainly did not take many pictures, but here are a few...

We ate appetizers overlooking this gorgeous valley.
The sunset was great!
Then we came inside for dinner and sat with our friends...the Hales and
the Yoons. Besides dinner being delicious and having fun with our friends, we also listened to Fernando Ortega live. Jesse was so excited, being that they are both from Albuquerque, NM. He has extremely soothing music- it would make great lullabies for Madison!
