Happy Anniversary Jesse!

Can you believe this was 3 years ago?!
So for our anniversary this year we went out to dinner to one of our favorite restaurants (we only go there once a year), the Arroyo Chop House. Jesse had flowers on the table for me- so sweet! After the amazing steak dinner, we went to a movie (we haven't been to one since Maddie was born!)
The next morning we woke up, and headed to the beach for a bike ride. We rode about 20 miles- from Marina Del Rey to Redondo Beach. It was so much fun getting exercise, being together, and looking at the beautiful scenery. Thank you again Homie for these bikes! After that we went to Bay Cities Italian Deli and Bakery. If you are ever in the area I highly suggest stopping- amazing sandwiches and Italian store.
We then drove to my parents' where we swam and had dinner. It was a really fun day! I love you, Jesse. You are the best husband- I really believe that!

Check out what Emma Did...

On Friday I went over to Karen Harasick's house for lunch. By the way, I love Karen. She has a ton of practical wisdom, a love for the Lord and her family that is encouraging, plus she makes great food! While she and I were talking in the kitchen, Emma asked if she could look after Madison. I had no idea Emma was taking pictures of Maddie! Emma is an amazing photographer, and I LOVE it anytime she takes pictures of Madison. Thank you Emma for the fun surprise! Go here to view the pictures.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Jesse! You are such a great Dad to Madison. I love being parents together. It's been fun to see you over the last year with her! I am thankful for your example, compassion, and leading us with wisdom. We love you,
your girlies

Eleven Months

Madison is indeed 11 months old! This will be the last basket picture- good thing because I couldn't get her to stay in it for more than 10 seconds! Our little Peanut is such a joy to us. We thank the Lord for this gift of 11 months, and pray for her continued heath, growth, and a soft heart towards God's Word at an early age.
Well, this picture sums it up- she's always on the move! Maddie is crawling, standing, cruising, bouncing, and dancing every awake moment. She's keeping me busy- just recently I pulled a piece of GLASS out of her mouth. We were hanging out by a pool, and in a matter of seconds she found it, and pop, put it in her mouth. She weighs around 18 pounds, and is wearing size 12 months! She eats almost everything (doesn't like the texture of melon). We can tell she's really growing up now, because she's outgrown most of her toys- the teething rings and rattles don't excite her anymore. She's into things that light up, make music, and move. Maddie has about 8 teeth. She laughs a lot and loves people. We are working on sitting still for a meal and not making loud fusses when something displeases her- that's a fun one in public! Her favorite stuffed animal is her "Dog"- she gives him hugs and squeezes! She also loves story time and flips through board books on her own. Jesse and I were just saying last night that we can't wait to hear what's going on in her mind- I"m sure we will not before long!

Resolved in Palm Springs

Mohawk time! A little bath before we drove to Palm Springs.
Here we are the first night at Resolved. If you don't know what Resolved is go here to find out more about it (you can download all the messages for free- my favorites were Lawson's first one, and CJ's second one). We had a refreshing time hearing the Word preached, fellowshipping, and singing worship.
Here is the princess being whisked down the runway in her limo (actually down the hallway in her stroller to our hotel room for a nap)!
Madison was exposed to many restaurants this trip- each meal we ate with different friends (that's about 10 restaurants!) Here she is having breakfast with Sarah- her buddy. We are thrilled for her and Drew to be getting married in just a few weeks!
That afternoon we went to lunch with my parents, and some of the Sanders family. You might be able to see Drew and Sarah at this restaurant in the background, too! Maddie was giving my dad kisses.
Too cute for words!
Brooke Smith and I had fun sitting outside together during several of the sessions with our kids. They had a great time playing. Shep loved giving Maddie hugs, and even gave her her first kiss on the cheek- so sweet!
One afternoon we had a Bible Study lunch. It was fun hanging out with everyone. We packed in between 40 and 50 people in a two bedroom condo for lunch.
My little sweetie
The dads took the babies in for a swim.
Elijah and Maddie had fun playing ball together.
Hannah had given me this outfit for Maddie a year ago at her baby shower- now she looks adorable in it!
After Resolved, Jesse and I were able to stay for two extra days in a condo the Yoons lent us. It was such a blessing to be together just as a family! We swam, walked, BBQed, and just played with Madison. I woke up from my nap (yes, and a little napping too), to find Jesse on the lawn with Maddie looking at the birds. They had no idea I was spying on them- they are so cute together!
The weather was perfect- 80's and 90's.
Here you see her hands oh so close to Daddy's phone and the remotes- both "no touches". She does a great job going over to them, pointing at them, and shaking her head no. Very funny.
Playing on the back porch in her diaper.
Her monkey crawl.
We were able to avoid restaurants while we stayed at the condo, and enjoyed eating home-cooked meals again.
I just always want to kiss these cheeks!
On the way home, we let Madison drive. We needed some shut eye after how busy she kept us :)

My Little Peanut

It has been an interesting week for Madison- she is getting over croup, has a mouthful of teeth coming in, and has been learning to stand all by herself! So, when she hits the pillow, she is out. I couldn't believe she slept through the flash when I took this shot! I love my Peanut.

Grandma and Grandpa's Visit

Robert and Deb came to visit this weekend. Despite Madison having croup, and being fairly clingy, we had a very fun weekend! It started out with going to a Garrison Keillor show at the Greek Theatre on Friday night.
He records his radio show "Prairie Home Companion" live on stage. The guest performers that night were Sheryl Crow, Martin Sheen, K.D. Lane, and a few other singers. We laughed so hard!
Maddie loves playing with Grandpa, or maybe it's the other way around :)
Grandma found that Madison loves strawberries during the visit- new food to the menu!
On Saturday we went to Huntington Library
Kinda cool, non-staged photo.
Here we are in the gorgeous Chinese Gardens.
Maddie enjoyed pointing to the different cacti in the Desert Gardens.
My personal favorite spot was the Lily Ponds. Here we saw mommy and baby ducks, fish, and turtles.

Thanks for coming, Grandma and Grandpa! We had fun with you. We love you!
